This amazing view was taken from Hotel Granada during my last visit there few weeks back. I mentioned in my previous post, here, that our stay at Johor was wholly arranged by Uncle Kang. He has a good eye for everything. The hotel he booked for us is strategically located at the center of everything that a guest will ever need, just in case the hotel couldn't provide the necessities. Some of it are local eateries to fulfill your midnight cravings and shopping centres to occupy the free times in between travel itinerary.
When you step into the hotel, you'll be greeted with a lego-build dragon at the lobby on your right-hand side. I guess most of the hotels here in Johor are provided with this. I saw another similar one when I visited a hotel at Kota Iskandar. The purple single seater sofa is a love!
Above: Deluxe Room Below: Executive Deluxe Room |
During our stay, we changed two different rooms due to the high
demand from visitors around since it was school holiday month. Our stay was actually booked a week before, but
still we couldn’t get hold of a room for five. Therefore, we stayed in Deluxe Room for the first two nights then moved into Executive Deluxe Room on the last night.
This hotel is renowned as the perfect stay for business
professionals. You wouldn’t need to worry if you have forgotten any toiletries.
Or should I say, you don’t even have to bring any. They have toiletries, shoe shine and sewing kit. Apart from that, you can even think of travelling light. No more heavy
luggage for your week-long stay away from home. They provide laundry service
at different prices depending on your types of clothing. As for us, we don’t
usually do laundry outside. We still follow our old style by bringing back bags
of baju busuk home to be washed.
Olla Restaurant |
They have Olla Restaurant and Quando Quando to provide you with totally different dining experience. Our stay there was given complimentary breakfast at Olla Restaurant for three days consecutively.
There were a variety of breakfast pre-prepared there before we came down from our room at 7 something in the morning. They have typical Malaysian breakfast like nasi lemak, bihun sup and mi goreng (different types of mee for each day: yellow noodles, vermicelli and kuey teow). Thumbs up for their sambal! They also have Western kind of breakfast too. You even can have the chefs to fry your style of egg. If you just want a light breakfast, serve yourself with a toasted bread with spread that suits your liking, a bowl of cereal or maybe both of those.
And we're the kind that have to try it all!
Throughout my stay there, I have to say that the workers are friendly and kept a smile on their face even at the wee hours. However, they have to speed-up in the process of checking in and out. Another one is the service at the Club Lounge. I'm sorry to say that we had waited for nearly an hour for the snack due to miscommunication.
