5 COOLEST PLACES TO STAY AT IN NISEKO

9:00:00 am

In this post, I'm gonna share with you the 5 places which I think are the coolest places to crash in Niseko. To crash here I mean a place to stay overnight. Before that, I believe you couldn't agree with me on how cool these places are before you get to know where Niseko is.

This how Niseko looks like... in winter season, of course. Generally, it's a mountainous area! So, you ask is there any shops there? No worries, there are shops and you won't starve there. It's just that they are too small to be seen in the photo. Niseko ("a cliff jutting over a riverbank deep in the mountains" in Ainu language) is a town located in Abuta District, Shiribeshi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. Pheww... such a long name. For now, you'll just have to remember it's at Hokkaido. Trust me, this is much easier to remember.

Niseko is well known as a tourist spot, specifically for skiers and snowboarders. There are six ski areas, namely Niseko Hirafu, Niseko Higashiyama, Niseko Annupuri, Niseko Hanazono, Niseko Moiwa and Niseko Weiss. These six ski areas are evenly distributed around the mountain. Due to the ever-increasing number of visitors to Niseko annually, the accommodations provided there have changed drastically since 100 years ago. The chamber-d'hote style used to be provided by the local farmhouses are now upgraded to become luxury villas. Click here to see how luxury they are.

Since the information I'm able to get are mostly about Niseko Hirafu, I assumed that this is the ski area favoured by all. And they have the longest run, 5,600m! Thus, the five coolest villas I'll be recommending are in Hirafu, just to make it a little more convenient for you to go for skiing! I'll start from villas at Lower Hirafu moving on to Upper Hirafu.

1. Glasshouse (Lower Hirafu) from RM4,658.65

Literally, it is a house made of glass, not fully but mostly. This is just like how I wanted it to be if I were to have a studio facing my backyard so I can imagine myself at an open-air but actually in a closed area. This five-bedroom villa is able to fit in a maximum of 10 - 12 people. Therefore, it is suitable for you if you have a large family or a big group of friends. I'll be listing out the reasons why I like about these villas. So, here's about Glasshouse.

  • Well-equipped with premium cooking and living amenities! (outdoor jacuzzi spa)
  • Private concierge offers shuttle to and from the Ace Family Chairlift daily.
  • 107km to New Chitose Airport.
2. Freshwater (Middle Hirafu) from RM462.31

This villa will be more suitable for couples or newly wed due to its size with only one or two bedrooms. But, it still can fit up to four person. A double date trip maybe! This villa has an oriental design which will make you feel at home with its cozy ambience.
  • Located on the main street in central Hirafu village.
  • Walking distance to the Family Run ski slope.
  • Well-equipped with premium cooking and living amenities!
  • Complimentary Freshwater shuttle to and from the Family Chair daily.
3. Shiki (Middle Hirafu) from RM901.50

Now you know how much I love floor to ceiling glass windows. I just can't get enough of them because they can widen your scenic view just like that *snap fingers*. I would say that this one to three-bedroom size villa is just nice for a standard family.
  • Located in central Hirafu.
  • 7 minutes walk to Family chair lift.
  • Michelin Star Gourment Restaurant in building.
  • Fully stocked supermarket & deli and snow sports store on ground floor.
  • 50m to free shuttle bus stop
4. Nozomi Views (Upper Hirafu) from RM711.24

In this brand new villa, which has only started its operation a year ago, you do not only get the amazing panoramic views but also wake up to the morning sunshine. What a great way to start you day!
  • Contemporary furnishings with fully-equipped kitchen.
  • A few minutes walk from the Ace Family Lift, shops and restaurants.
  • Dry room, ski locker, & central heating.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet covering the entire condo
5. Ki Neseko (Upper Hirafu) from RM1280.24

This villa is the bestest of the best. Fyi, it has been nominated for 2015 World's Best New Ski Hotel. At a much better price, you can get the most of the facilities and amenities there. It's like a splurge! Go enjoy the coming holiday or a New Year countdown with your big family or group of friends!
  • First ever Ski Valet service in Niseko.
  • Natural indoor and outdoor onsens (hot spring).
  • Each level has the stunning views of Mt. Yotei.
  • The slopes are a stone's throw away from doorstep
So, these are the 5 recommended villas by me. You can get more details about each villa when you click their respective name. You'll be directed to the properties at The Luxe Nomad site, which curate escapes to affordable luxury~

Feed your eyes, at least, with those authentically mesmerizing photo if you haven't have the plan to travel anytime soon. Let it be the reminder for you in the future that this is one of the place you do not want to miss in your travel list!
